The Grave Digger’s Stand
Through blackened ash and thunder's drum,
A silent figure starts to come.
Cloaked in soil, with breath like ice,
He does not speak — he buries twice.

The first, the brave who fall in fight,
The second, those who flee the night.
He walks alone where armies tread,
A ghost who only honors dead.

The eastern horde in countless waves,
Marched proud — but found their endless graves.
Steel could not break the spade he bore,
For he digs graves — and something more.

"Come forward, dogs," he whispered low,
"Your blood will bloom where poppies grow."
They charged with flame, with rage, with pride,
But none returned — none spoke, none cried.

Now by the gate of fallen kings,
He leans upon the spade he swings.
A warning carved in shattered stone:
"Invaders die — and die alone."
